McDonough County Cemetery Books
Work is being done on Forest Lawn Cemetery and Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb. When the books are completed they will have full color photos of all existing tombstones. Other information gleaned from our Center’s obituaries is included for many of the interments. Volunteers are needed to take pictures of tombstones. See our event calendar for scheduled photo session dates and times. Also see our publications page for our completed cemetery books available for purchase.
Always wanted to see your name in print? We accept submissions for newsletter articles of McDonough County genealogy or historical interest. We also accept queries from members about McDonough County families. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Indexing of vital records is an ongoing project for MCGS. We publish indexes for Birth, Marriage, and Deaths in McDonough County. We are always adding to our vast collection of obituaries, both print and online.
At Our Center
We are constantly adding books and other documents to our library. We need volunteers to catalog these new volumes and put them on our shelves for patron use.
How Can I Help?
Volunteers are always welcome on these or any of our other projects. Stop by the center during regular hours or email us at email@example.com to find out how you can help.
